Become a Community College Tutor or Trainer

Foundational Skills Trainer / Assessor

Our Foundation Skills programs help learners build essential confidence in reading, writing, maths, and digital literacy. These courses are often the first step for people returning to study or preparing for further training and employment.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in language, literacy, numeracy, or adult education
  • A commitment to inclusive and supportive teaching practices

By becoming a Foundation Skills trainer/assessor, you’ll play a vital role in helping learners gain independence, participate in the workforce, and achieve their goals.

Vocational Trainer

Our vocational trainers deliver nationally recognised qualifications and accredited training in areas such as business, retail, leadership, accounting, and more. These programs are designed to prepare people for work, career advancement, and lifelong employability.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Vocational qualifications in your area of expertise
  • Current industry experience to ensure training is relevant and practical

As a vocational trainer, you’ll bring your industry knowledge into the classroom, helping students apply their learning directly to real-world opportunities.

Leisure Course Tutor

Our Leisure & Lifestyle program offers short courses that spark creativity, connection, and personal growth. From arts and crafts to cooking, dance, music, and languages, leisure tutors bring passion and personality to the classroom.

Requirements:

  • A passion for your subject area
  • Strong communication skills to engage learners of all backgrounds
  • Experience teaching or sharing skills in community settings (preferred, but not essential)

These courses are about more than learning new hobbies — they foster wellbeing, inclusion, and lifelong friendships.
