Outreach Support Officer

Some people just need the right person to back them at the right time.

This role is about being that person.

The Outreach Support Officer supports people across the Illawarra to access education and training, particularly those who may face barriers to participation. The role connects community, learners and internal teams, helping people take their first step into learning and stay engaged once they begin.

This is not a traditional administration role, and it is not a teaching role. It sits between community, education and support.

You will build trusted relationships, create referral pathways, support learner engagement, and work closely with Program Specialists, trainers and team members to improve participation, retention and progression outcomes.

This role may suit someone with experience in community services, youth work, disability or mental health support, employment services, case work, education support or learner services.

What matters most is how you work with people.

Business Unit: The Community College
Location: Head Office, with regular community engagement across the Illawarra
Employment Type: Full-time, fixed term
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Classification: WEA Illawarra Enterprise Agreement 2019, Schedule B Level 7.1
Salary: $83,866 per annum plus superannuation
Contract term: Fixed term, funded through the National Skills Agreement Outreach Support Program, concluding December 2028
