Course overview

Get started, reinforce or refresh your painting skills. This course is designed to establish the foundation for all painting principles and techniques and is suitable for acrylic or oil painting.

Students are led on a journey of learning basic skills which also includes basic colour theory. Get started on your artistic journey in this very informative program.

WHAT TO BRING

12 x 16inch (approx.) stretched canvas or canvas board

16 x 20 inch stretched canvas or canvas board

A4 Size canvas board

A4 (or similar sized) Sketch Pad

6B and B pencil

Kneadable rubber

Palettes: 2 x white plastic picnic plates or trays (smooth bottom), or any pa

2 x squat jars or strong plastic containers (for water)

1 Rag and/or roll of kitchen paper, and 1 old towel

Apron or wear old clothes

1 small bottle of Acrylic “Retarder” (to slow down drying process)

Brushes: A variety of soft, synthetic painting brushes; differing sizes from large square to small, round pointed; or any “Starter” brush set

Paints: ACRYLIC or OIL PAINT COLOURS (100ml ACRYLIC tube size)

All students MUST wear closed in shoes
